Wake Me Up In March: One Way To Avoid The Holidays
The holidays can come upon us so fast that we somehow want to join in or wish to avoid the whole thing.

While people are already prepping for Thanksgiving and Black Friday this leaves me with a brilliant idea. Can I just go to sleep and wake up March 1st instead and just skip Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Hanukah, Christmas, Kwanza, New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day?
This way I can avoid all the dreaded things we all get dragged into for these upcoming holidays. Before you know it I’m putting on the extra holiday pounds and wondering if I’ll ever have a date for New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day.
The over anticipated rush of the holidays each year brings a mix of emotions where I sometimes believe this is going to be the best holiday ever. Then that comes crashing down as I realized I’ve bought into the hype once again.

It’s little things that really matter during the holidays. Like the unexpected email from a high school friend inviting me to Thanksgiving dinner to a phone call from a lost friend.
But I wonder what it would be like to just take a long snooze and wake up next year in March instead avoiding the roller coaster ride of emotions each holiday season brings. But I have a feeling I may be reaching for a candy cane again listening to holiday music and getting teary eyed hearing "I'll Be Home For Christmas" tugging at my heart.
