Warren On Fractions, Bageled Betwixt Tweets & No Tax Returns

A few weeks ago I introduced myself to KPPC's, Larry Mantle, and I told him he was supremely suited for my must-hear listening, more than any must see-TV, and why I told him I had been agitated, perhaps, I said "irate," when he had done a segment on AirTalk during the GOP primaries of the 2016 Presidential campaign, about whether Senator Lindsey Graham was qualified to be President as a single man. He replied, by saying, he had gotten requests from listeners, with a reflexive swiftness, that seemed defensive, and/or somewhat alarmed, as if he had just remembered leaving the water running... on a segment about almond farmers he had done a few days prior, so, no time for small talk, "Gotta run!"

I hadn't intended it to be rude and I only remembered because it seemed more plausible to do that segment, if ever, as pegged to Graham's righteous indignation about Christine Ford's testimony, once again, as a "confirmed bachelor," who's never had the same long term relationship with a female spouse, to understand issues he didn't seem to get...pegged to the same supportable or not, basis, because one would assume he's had friendships with people of both genders.

Yesterday, once again, I had been prompted to wonder why Mantle would choose to sustain a story of percentages about a woman and a Senator who had cast her allegiance with Native Americans in a more American traditional way, than even John F. Kennedy's most elevated of speeches, when he had expressed solidarity with the repressed people of East Germany,

"Ich bin ein Berliner," he told a roaring crowd, "me too."

Even as my world's most renowned scholar of show tunes and musicals, the title of "Show Boat" alone, was way too prissy for me. When will I ever learn never to trust my best, most time honored instincts? It is perhaps one of the Top 5 musicals ever written. No way am I hacking your way through this thicket of American history and bigotry for free, but here is a golden nugget of percentages, on me, but with wikipedia as an easily accessed narrator on the same playing field as everyone of us:

There is a comparable disguising of white and black, and black and blue, in Mark Twain's much maligned masterpiece, Huckleberry Finn, once again, courtesy of the same wikipedia available to you too:

What percent of being white helped the careers of Lena Horne or Dorothy Dandridge, what percent of being Jewish is too much or not enough, how gay is bi and/or how straight, and which switch up, is the mark up and which is the fire sale? Cherokees and Israelis get the rules right because they exist...no smoke, nor mirrors on a sliding scale. Does anyone think by the time Elizabeth Taylor was saying, "I do" to Eddie Fisher, she had stopped reading the fine print, on her first Torah pre-nup...by the most strict definition of Jewish tradition, Liz was never going to be the real thing, without someone on her mother's side of her family who also was Jewish.

This had been a stunning conflict for Debbie Reynolds, as she was torn between wanting to warn her best friend and wanting to dump her husband, all the same. Liz knew the score, and how to calculate percentages, when it came to carats, rock solid movie contracts and the commitment of marriage...and not because she had been condemned by the Vatican as 100% whore, and, btw, did you know they condemned Richard Burton too- I did not? I can't speak for Dick but I know that Liz believed in being in love, in full, being the #1 biggest star, playing the most famous Queen of Egypt, making the biggest salary ever, and also believed in the sanctity of marriage 100%, each of the eight times she wed.

Taylor had it easy compared to Elizabeth Warren, who has 99 variations of adversaries as colleagues in the U.S. Senate and too many tribes for me to play the percentages of making a mistake, so let's just say, taking Trump's disparaging remarks about all Native Americans in theory, she tried to use science to prove him the charlatan, whom he only "seems" to be unofficially, ditto re: tax evader, but she is neither scientist nor shaman, nor tribal elder and no good seems to come from doing the right thing, now, if ever, and the Cherokee spokesmen were P.O.ed... big time.

This is why I am reaching out to the Mickey Mantle of radio programming substance, because Larry Mantle seems to be as much of a baseball fan, as is my friend, Jon Crowley, who's racing to get me up to speed at the same home plate, as Mantle's L.A. Dodgers, not Mickey's, NY Yankees, who are to the NY Mets, as tycoon Trump is to tycoon Bloomberg, New Yorker to New Yorker, as President Trump is to President Obama, as Archie Bunker is to Meathead...an equal playing field that originates in Queens, as does Donald Trump.

How about new rules of journalism:

No more point counterpoint, if what qualifies as "counter," is the DNA equivalent of- NOT 100% TRUE?

How about taking a more active role in changing the conversation, the guy at the bully pulpit seems to bait and switch, as often as he tweets, then stops for long intervals, as if a kind of remorse code or just morse.

Larry Mantle- I realize you made best efforts to open more eyes, but we are in a bite-sized economy of language and thought. Just wondering out loud, while it's still allowed to wonder about rules that seem to be changing like the back story of a true blue woman Senator from Mass...what was the prize for Senator Warren being closer to native in full? What's the prize for being 100% "citizen" or patriot, for being all black or all white, all Southerner or Tongan, or a progressively reforming Jew?

What's it all about, Larry?... or Alfie?...I am somewhat confused these days. Time seems to march on like a La Marseillaise caravan or that show tune, "One More Day" from Les Miz, which I may have mixed up with that other tune about seventy something trombones...there seems to be some confusion about percentages of timpani's.
