West Hollywood Mural at Westbourne & Santa Monica Blvd

New Zealand Artist Cinzah & Spray Painted Mural Were Made To Order

Occupying a corner lot can be tricky for any business, and this one at the southwest corner of Westbourne Drive and Santa Monica Blvd. is no exception. Its last incarnation had been a coffee bar, that came and went so quickly, it may have caused the kind of caffeine headache that prompted its proprietor to give up coffee for good.

The two women opening what has been described as a French rotisserie bistro... are taking no chances and after searching through all the resumes of artists approved by Weho Arts, they found Cinzah, a multi-disciplinary artist from New Zealand, who is scheduled to finish this spray painted mural by the end of tonight.

Other than "I Love West Hollywood," the iconography is tres French: notice Basilica Sacre-Coeur, the Roman Catholic church that is located at Montmartre, the highest point in Paris, and next to it is I.M. Pei's glass pyramid addition to the Louvre museum. The rooster is not meant to be a stand-in for the rotisserie, it is a French national emblem, first used to decorate flags during the French Revolution.
