The 8th annual West Hollywood Women's Leadership Conference kicks off on Friday, April 4 with a free screening of HBO Documentary Paycheck to Paycheck: The Life and Times of Katrina Gilbert at the Pacific Design Center's Silver Screen Theater.
Produced and directed by Shari Cookson and Nick Doob and executive produced by Maria Shriver, the film provides an intimate insight into the financial and emotional stresses of living on the brink of poverty, as told through the life of one woman, Katrina Gilbert, whose daily struggles illuminate the challenges faced by more than 42 million American women and the 28 million children who depend on them.
A “Call to Action” panel discussion and dessert reception sponsored by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will follow the screening, providing attendees with information on how they can be agents of change in their communities. The screening and kick-off event is free to attend, but registration is required via Eventbrite at www.wlckickoff.eventbrite.com.
