• Woodland Christian volleyball resumes Sierra Delta League by sweeping Golden Sierra (dailydemocrat.com) — Woodland Christian's volleyball team kept its strong season rolling with a dominant three-set home win over Golden Sierra, powered by standout performances from several Cardinals players. The team now heads into a busy stretch of league and nonleague matches, including a rematch with Pierce and key home dates that give Woodland fans plenty of chances to cheer them on.
• Man sentenced for manslaughter in Vacaville man's death (kcra.com) — A Woodland man has been sentenced to six years in state prison after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the death of a Vacaville man who was missing for years. The case, which involved a long-running missing person investigation and an eight-week trial that ended in a deadlock, concluded with the August sentencing in Solano County.
