10 Displaced in Woodland Hills Cooking Fire

A cooking fire set off an apartment blaze that displaced 10 residents and injured one person in Woodland Hills.

WOODLAND HILLS, CA - Ten people were displaced displaced by a fire that started in a first-floor unit at Warner Center and one person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, fire officials said.

No other injuries were reported.

The blaze on the 5800 block of North Topanga Canyon Boulevard was caused by "carelessness while cooking," according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey. He said nearly half of all residential fires are caused by cooking mishaps.
