Accident Sends Pedestrian to Hospital

The woman was walking near Ventura Boulevard and Fallbrook Avenue.

A 76-year-old Woodland Hills woman struck by a pickup truck was hospitalized Friday.

The accident at Ventura Boulevard and Fallbrook Avenue happened about 6:35 a.m., Los Angeles police with the Valley Traffic Division said.

Sondra Friedman was crossing Fallbrook when a westbound driver turned off Ventura and onto southbound Fallbrook, striking her, he said.

Pickup driver Forrest Gayedon, 68, also of Woodland Hills, was not cited in the accident, pending the outcome of an investigation by police with the Valley Traffic Division, Sgt. Cam Dunnet of the unit said.

Police are urging witnesses to call detectives at (818) 644-8036.
