Update: Coroner Identifies Woodland Hills Shooting Victim

The woman's daughter is arrested in connection with the slaying, according to reports.

Updated at 2:35 a.m.—A 61-year-old woman who was found Thursday fatally shot inside a Woodland Hills home was identified Friday by the coroner's office.

The victim, Caroline Purviance, was found dead about 8:20 p.m. Thursday in the 5600 block of Mason Avenue, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Christopher No of the Media Relations office and coroner investigator Christie McCracken.

The woman's 24-year-old daughter, Laura Purviance, was arrested Friday outside Medford, Oregon in connection with the slaying, Oregon authorities said.

Oregon State troopers placed Purviance into custody at about 4 a.m. Friday at the Valley of the Rogue rest area along Interstate 5, about 13 miles north of Medford, according to Oregon State Police Lt. Gregg Hastings.

Investigators identified Purviance as the suspect in a domestic violence act that claimed her mother's life, according to Los Angeles police Homicide Detective Dave Peteque.

LAPD detectives were headed to Oregon to continue their homicide investigation, Hastings said.

The suspect remains in custody in Oregon, according to Hastings.
