Crashes Involving Prom Attendees Closes 101 Freeway
The freeway was closed for about an hour soon after midnight Sunday.

Two collisions involving six cars closed the Ventura (101) Freeway in Woodland Hills for about an hour early Sunday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
It started with two cars crashing into the center divider at about 12:20 a.m., on the eastbound Ventura Freeway just east of DeSoto Avenue, said California Highway Patrol Officer Cheyenne Quesada in the Traffic Management Center.
Four other vehicles crashed trying to avoid the first accident, and Los Angeles firefighters were called to the scene at 12:27 a.m., Quesada said.

Injuries appeared to be minor, according to a video photographer at the scene who saw three ambulances leave empty.
There were two couples with young men wearing tuxedos and women in formal gowns, having come from their high school prom, the photographer said. The vehicles appeared severely damaged, the photographer said.
