Crews Battle Woodland Hills Brush Fire

Extreme heat and windy conditions challenge firefighters battling a 10-acre blaze in hilly terrain.

Firefighters were battling a 10-acre bush fire today in the Woodland Hills area.

The fire was reported shortly before 1 p.m. in rugged terrain near the 24000 block of Vanowen Street, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Crews from the Los Angeles County Fire Department also were sent to the scene. Light winds were reported in the area, Stewart said.
