Firefighter Suffers Burn in Winnetka Fire

A firefighter is in good condition after suffering a possible burn to one of his hands while battling a blaze in a garage at 7300 Oakdale Ave. in the Winnetka area, Cody Weireter of the Los Angeles Fire Department says.

Thirty-three firefighters responded and knocked down the fire in 10 minutes, Weireter says. The fire was first reported at 4:09 p.m., he says.

The firefighter was taken to a hospital for treatment. The cause of the fire is under investigation, Weireter says.
