Hotel Worker Hid in Room to Watch Guest Undress, Suit Alleges
A woman is suing a local hotel, alleging negligence by employing a convicted felon rumored to steal property.

A woman sued a Calabasas hotel today, alleging one of its maintenance workers snuck into her room while she was out getting dinner and watched while she undressed and showered after returning.
The woman, identified only as Erica Doe in her Los Angeles Superior Court complaint against the Anza, alleges invasion of privacy, negligent hiring and supervision and negligent infliction of emotional distress. She is seeking unspecified damages.
A representative for the hotel did not immediately reply to a request for comment.

The suit states that the plaintiff, who worked for an adoption agency, was traveling on business and stayed at the hotel on Sept. 9, 2013. The maintenance worker used a master key to enter her room and concealed himself so she would not see him when she returned from purchasing her dinner, the suit alleges.
The woman alleges the worker fled the room when she discovered his presence and screamed.

The plaintiff alleges other employees told hotel management that he was stealing hotel property and the operators of the Anza knew or should have known that he was a convicted felon.
