Man Killed In Woodland Hills Broadside Collision

A man in his 50s died when his car was broadsided in Woodland Hills Wednesday.

WOODLAND HILLS, CA — A man died in Woodland Hills Wednesday when an SUV broadsided his car. He was not wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The victim, a man in 50s was killed shortly after 1:37 p.m. on Shoup Avenue near Summit Vue Drive, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

An SUV, driven by a woman who suffered minor injuries in the collision, was headed southbound on Shoup when it struck the car. The man's car had just pulled into the road in a residential area and was pushed some distance from the point of impact, Humphrey said.

The woman who was driving the SUV suffered no visible injuries but was taken to a hospital to be further evaluated. Both drivers were their vehicle's sole occupants.
