UPDATED: Neighborhood Evacuated During Winnetka Standoff
Hours later, the situation -- which may have involved a former police officer -- resolves peacefully.

A possibly suicidal former sheriff's deputy will undergo a 72-hour mental health evaluation following a standoff with police in Winnetka that ended early today.
The standoff between the former deputy and a Los Angeles Police Department SWAT team ended peacefully at about 5:20 a.m., with the unidentified woman being taken into custody without incident. The standoff began at about 10:30 p.m. Monday at the home in the 7000 block of Fulbright Avenue.

Some homes in the neighborhood were evacuated amid reports the woman had a variety of weapons inside the home.
After the woman surrendered, the house was searched, and police found five firearms and a grenade launcher, according to LAPD Officer Nuria Vanegas.
