Officer Shot In Woodland Hills

A police officer and suspect were shot in Woodland Hills Monday morning following a car chase: BREAKING.

WOODLAND HILLS, CA — A police officer and suspect were shot in Woodland Hills Monday morning at the conclusion of a stolen car chase. Another officer suffered minor injuries.

The shooting happened at Corbin and Hamlin Avenues near Pierce College at 10:30. a.m., confirmed Los Angeles Police Department Officer Lizeth Lomeli. The officer was shot in the leg and rushed to a nearby hospital, while a second officers suffered scrapes and minor injuries in the incident.

The suspect was shot and killed at the scene. The deadly incident began with a chase of an allegedly stolen SUV. The chase led to the area of Hamlin and Corbin, where the suspect tried to flee on foot into an alley, where he was shot.
