SigAlert: Man Killed Walking Across 101 Freeway

The lanes 1, 2 and 3 lanes are closed whole police investigate the death of a pedestrian on the Ventura (101) Freeway

WOODLAND HILLS, CA --A man was killed Saturday when he was struck by multiple vehicles while walking on the Ventura (101) Freeway in Woodland Hills, authorities said.

It was reported at 5:19 p.m. on the northbound Ventura Freeway at Woodlake Avenue, said California Highway Patrol Officer Stephan Brandt.

The first report was that someone was walking on the right shoulder and one minute later they were struck by multiple vehicles, Brandt said.

A vehicle reported on the eastbound side of the freeway at Shoup Avenue was somehow involved in the crash, he said.

The CHP issued a SigAlert has shutting down lanes 1, 2 and 3, Brandt said. Lane 4 was open.
