Cleanup hitter Heidelman came up for the second time of the inning, this time with bases loaded. After facing a 9-1 deficit, the tying run stood at the plate, but it wasn’t meant to be. Heidelman was retired.

The Thrashers next home game is a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. Thursday against the Palm Springs Power.
