Valley Gun Buyback to Offer for $100-200 Giftcards for Guns

A pair of city-sponsored gun buybacks aimed at curbing gun violence will allow anonymous dropoffs in exchange for gift cards.

LOS ANGELES, CA -Residents may surrender guns anonymously at any of two city-sponsored Gun Buyback locations Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Gun owners giving up their firearms at a pair of buyback events Saturday were reminded today to bring them unloaded inside locked containers or stored inside their vehicle trunks.

Guns can be surrendered anonymously. Handguns, shotguns and rifles can be exchange for $100 Ralph's grocery gift cards, while guns classified by the state as assault weapons will exchange for $200 cards.

The buyback sites are in:

  • The San Fernando Valley, Facey Medical Group, 11333 Sepulveda Blvd., in Mission Hills; and
  • South Los Angeles at the Los Angeles Sports Arena, 3939 S. Figueroa St.
