Woman, 19, Killed in Fiery Crash

A woman died at the scene in Northridge in a fiery two car crash.

A 19-year-old woman was killed today in a two-vehicle crash in Northridge.

The crash at the intersection of Roscoe Boulevard and Lindley Avenue occurred at 3:40 a.m., according to a police officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.

The crash involved the 19-year-old woman driving a 2005 Ford Mustang, and a 21-year-old man driving a 2005 Honda Civic, said Los Angeles police officer Lilliana Preciado of the Media Relations Section.

Preciado said the impact caused the front of the Honda to catch fire, Preciado said. The 19-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, she said.

Paramedics dispatched to the scene at 3:38 a.m. rushed at least four people to area hospitals, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

A videographer said the driver of a Honda Civic with three passengers was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. Police did not confirm the eyewitness report.

In addition to the fatality, a second person was transported to a hospital amd was reportedly near death.
