Woodland Hills' LA Pierce College To Host Aug. 7 Open House

WOODLAND HILLS, CA — Los Angeles Pierce College in Woodland Hills will join the other eight schools that make up the Los Angeles Community College District, holding Open House Fall Registration Fairs, at their respective campuses, Saturday Aug. 7, with bonuses offered for vaccinations, according to officials.

"We’re back! We’re open! We’re ready for you!" the LACCD district said, noting that 2021 fall-semester classes will be a variety of on-campus and in-person, along with options for online, remote and hybrid learning.

The “Colleges of Los Angeles” open houses will run 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. On-site assistance will include faculty, financial-aid experts and counselors to aid with enrollment questions or scheduling.

LACCD Chancellor Francisco Rodriguez also plans stop-in visits at various campuses, the district said.

During the Aug. 7 events, most colleges also will offer vaccination clinics, and all LACCD students, who get vaccinated, can receive up to $150, while funding lasts, according to officials.

In a partnership between the Foundation for the Los Angeles Community Colleges and Kaiser Permanente, students who get vaccinated are eligible for $75 — or $150 if they bring a friend or family member to get vaccinated, district officials said, adding that more than 400 LACCD enrollees, to date, have taken advantage of the offer.

Students must show they were vaccinated July 1, 2021, or later, and apply for the incentive using the LACCD student portal and the form under the "Scholarship / Foundation" link.

• Los Angeles City College, 855 N. Vermont Ave., Los Angeles;
• East Los Angeles College, 1301 Avenida Cesar Chavez, Monterey Park;
• Los Angeles Harbor College, 1111 Figueroa Place, Wilmington;
• Los Angeles Mission College, 13356 Eldridge Ave., Sylmar;
• Los Angeles Pierce College, 6201 Winnetka Ave., Woodland Hills;
• Los Angeles Southwest College, 1600 West Imperial Highway, Los Angeles;
• Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, 400 W. Washington Blvd., Los Angeles;
• Los Angeles Valley College, 5800 Fulton Ave., Valley Glen;
