The first report to 911 was that someone was walking on the right shoulder, and one minute later he was struck by multiple vehicles, Brandt said.
Dorner was on the southside of the freeway, when he walked directly into the path of an eastbound 2015 Buick LaCrosse. The vehicle's windshield was cracked by the impact and the driver, a 43-year-old man, immediately drove to the right shoulder of the freeway and called 911.
