Arvada City Council approves funding for AI wildfire detection cameras (arvadapress.com) β Arvada City Council has narrowly approved $300,000 for an AI-powered Wildfire Early Detection System focused on the city's highβrisk west side, despite resident privacy concerns. The 4β3 vote means staff will now seek a specific camera vendor, with council and emergency officials promising public input and clear data-handling policies before deployment.

Arvada city team, local nonprofits help 65 people move out of homelessness (arvadapress.com) β Arvada has already met its 2026 goal of helping 65 Olde Town residents move from homelessness into stable housing, four months ahead of schedule, through partnerships with Mission Arvada, Family Tree, SafeSide Recovery and Suburban Studios. City staff and nonprofits describe how bridge housing, case management, and community support are reducing visible homelessness and invite residents to volunteer or donate to keep the momentum going.

4. Aurora police and regional task force arrest 8 people linked to metro area crime spree (sentinelcolorado.com) β A regional task force has arrested eight people tied to a series of burglaries, vehicle thefts, robberies and shootings across multiple Front Range cities, including Arvada. Investigators say ballistic evidence links the group to hundreds of shootings, and Arvada police participate in the RAVEN task force coordinating arrests and ongoing searches for two remaining suspects.
