2. Colorado Grand Jury Indicts Two People on 37 Felony Counts in Alleged Home Equity Line Fraud That Took More Than $800,000 (newsbreak.com) — Banks in Arvada were among several Colorado institutions hit in an alleged home-equity fraud scheme that prosecutors say stole more than $800,000. A statewide grand jury indicted two people on 37 felony counts each, and Arvada police assisted the investigation. Officials say the suspects used fake IDs and business filings to drain accounts and launder funds.
3. A Love That Keeps Expanding: Mary Ann Mahoney's Life of Spiritual Motherhood (denvercatholic.org) — A longtime Spirit of Christ and Shrine of St. Anne parishioner from Arvada is being honored for a lifetime of service in youth ministry, music, OCIA, and preschool teaching. Her story traces how a teenage encounter with faith led to mission work in China, deep roots in Arvada parishes, and ongoing discernment of consecrated virginity.
4. Arrest made in road-rage shooting of man in his 70s (newsbreak.com) — An Arvada couple driving home from Golden was caught in a terrifying road-rage shooting that left the husband, in his 70s, with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Investigators used traffic cameras, license plate readers, and cell data to arrest a suspect in Thornton. The family says they're grateful everyone survived but shaken by how close the bullets came to being fatal.
