BVSD discusses school consolidation and closure options (boulderweekly.com) — Boulder families could see multiple neighborhood schools close or merge under BVSD's Resilient School Proposal, including Douglass, Mesa, Flatirons and Community Montessori, with new boundaries and bell times on the table. The plan aims to address under-enrollment and housing pressures in Boulder County while expanding access to special education and autism programs. Key board meetings and a final vote are set for September, with community input invited.
   

2. Boulder awards $30K for 8 art projects that will bring murals, birdhouses and more to neighborhoods (dailycamera.com) — Boulder's Office of Arts and Culture just awarded $30,000 to eight resident-led Creative Neighborhoods projects that will add murals, sculptures, birdhouses, and performances across the city. From a community seed shed in Old North Boulder to birdhouse walks in Southeast Boulder and shadow puppet shows at Salberg Park, these projects will roll out through September 2027, with next year's applications opening May 2027.
   

3. REPRISE Brings Iconic Phish Shows to Boulder's Fox Theatre (gratefulweb.com) — Jam-band fans can catch REPRISE bringing full recreations of classic Phish shows to Boulder's Fox Theatre on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2026. The all-ages performance features veteran musicians from Pink Talking Fish, Twiddle, Kung Fu, The Machine, and more, with doors at 7 p.m., an 8 p.m. showtime, and general admission tickets on sale now.
   

4. Boulder man still missing after week of searching (denvergazette.com) — A 42-year-old Boulder resident, Andrew Lord, remains missing a week after disappearing from the Winiger Ridge Campground, and daily search operations have now been suspended. Multiple Boulder County rescue teams, dive units, and partner agencies scoured land and Gross Reservoir without success. Investigators are still working the case with Denver police and urge anyone with tips to contact the sheriff's office.
   

5. 'The casino is in your pocket:' New Colorado law targets abusive sports betting practices (9news.com) — A new Colorado law tightening online sports betting rules is already shaping how University of Colorado Boulder counselors talk with students about gambling and debt. Daily deposit limits, a ban on credit card betting, and restrictions on push notifications and youth-focused ads aim to curb problem gambling. CU Boulder staff say the changes give them stronger tools to promote safer habits.
