Today's riddle: What did the Buffalo say when his son left? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Things to do in Broomfield for the week of Aug. 23-29, 2026 (broomfieldenterprise.com subscription) — If you're looking for something close to home this week, Broomfield Library and nearby venues are packed with free activities from August 23–29. Residents can drop into writing consultations, language conversation groups, gardening classes, tech help, chess, knitting, and more, all designed to build skills and connect neighbors right in Broomfield.
2. Colorado Connector passenger rail could reach Boulder by 2029. Here's how the plan would work. (boulderreportinglab.org) — A new Colorado Connector passenger rail line could be running by 2029, using existing tracks to link Denver with communities including Broomfield, Louisville, Boulder, Longmont and Fort Collins. Trains would offer comfortable, Wi‑Fi-equipped trips that ease highway congestion, with potential long-term funding to improve station areas and local connections in cities along the route.
3. Parade of champions: Holy Family tops Broomfield in matchup of 4A and 5A champs (dailycamera.com) — Broomfield High School's defending 5A softball champs took their first in-state loss in two years, falling 14-7 to Holy Family in an early-season matchup in Denver. With last year's senior core gone and star pitcher Myah Becker sidelined until September, the Eagles are treating this as a learning step while they rebuild toward another title run.
4. Boogie Records' new groove (themtnear.com) — Broomfield residents Jeff and Kristianna Sanders are commuting up the hill to run Boogie Records in Nederland while they plan a move to the mountains. The couple left high-pressure careers in tech and PR to take over the community-focused record shop, aiming to grow its mix of music, events, and local connections that already draw regulars from across the Front Range.
