• Aspen Celebrity Chef to host veteran appreciation lunch at the American Legion (kdnk.org) — Tomorrow, Carbondale's American Legion post will host a free veteran appreciation lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., featuring a Brazilian-style wild game menu by Aspen celebrity chef Susie Jimenez. Veterans, first responders, and active military can dine in or grab takeout containers, with organizers hoping to build an annual Carbondale tradition that connects local service members and their families. RSVP by emailing the chef.
   

• Roaring Fork Schools Board of Education hears academic outcomes update (postindependent.com) — Roaring Fork Schools leaders just reported new state performance data, highlighting strong math gains and standout English scores at Carbondale Community School compared with the Colorado average.
