• CHIPS Zone Program (coloradosprings.gov) — Semiconductor companies operating in Colorado Springs can now tap into new state tax incentives through the CHIPS Zone Program, effective January 1, 2026. Created by House Bill 23-1260 and managed by Colorado's OEDIT, the designated local CHIPS Zone offers qualifying manufacturers multiple income tax credits to support job creation, capital investment, and research and development in the city.
   

• Police respond following brief scare at Colorado Springs football game (kktv.com subscription) — Police briefly investigated a possible gun threat during Friday night's Vista Ridge High football game in Colorado Springs after students reported seeing someone with a gun and hearing a shot. A school resource officer and multiple CSPD units searched the field, parking lot, and surrounding area, found no weapon or evidence of gunfire, and the game continued with most spectators unaware.
   

• Mural honoring Colorado Springs leaders takes shape (gazette.com) — A long-planned mosaic mural honoring community leaders and students is taking shape under the Martin Luther King Jr. Bypass at Circle and Fountain in southeastern Colorado Springs. Concrete Couch volunteers and John Adams Elementary students are installing hundreds of handmade tiles on the Sam Dunlap Wall of Inspiration, celebrating neighborhood elders, youth voices, and the legacy of local baseball coach and mentor Sam Dunlap.
