Leaders say the improvements boost capacity and could support more flights, while a new art gallery and food court updates are due next summer. 2. KRDO13 Investigates: IntelliTec College in Colorado Springs placed on state probation over graduate job placement rates (krdo.com) — A Colorado Springs campus of IntelliTec College is on state probation after its graduate job placement rates fell below required benchmarks, prompting closer oversight of its programs. The school, which heavily serves local military-affiliated students, says it's boosting career services and expects to meet standards by late 2026. Current students' programs and financial aid are not affected, but outcomes are under review.
   

3. City Council votes to dissolve Old Colorado City Downtown Development Authority (gazette.com) — Colorado Springs City Council has narrowly voted to dissolve the Old Colorado City Downtown Development Authority less than two years after voters approved it, raising big questions about how Colorado Avenue improvements will be funded. Business owners packed the meeting to defend the DDA, arguing it unified more than 400 west-side businesses, while some councilmembers prefer a business improvement district. A final vote on dissolution comes at the next council meeting in September.
   

4. El Paso County commissioners to hear Buc-ee's zoning appeal Thursday (kktv.com) — El Paso County commissioners will decide Thursday whether the proposed Buc-ee's near I-25 and County Line Road fits the county's C-1 zoning rules, a key step for any future development north of Colorado Springs. The hearing won't approve construction but will shape what's allowed on the site, and residents can weigh in through written comments, attendance, or public comment.
   

5. Maryland murder suspect arrested in Colorado Springs (kktv.com) — A murder suspect wanted in Maryland was tracked to southeast Colorado Springs and arrested Monday near South Academy Boulevard and Milton E. Proby Parkway. U.S. Marshals and Colorado Springs Police coordinated surveillance before taking the 30-year-old into custody. He's now being held at the El Paso County Jail pending further proceedings.
