Data Centers in Denver (denvergov.org) — Denver is pausing new data center projects through May 2027 while a new working group of residents, experts, and industry representatives reviews zoning, environmental safeguards, and utility impacts. Locals can apply through early September 2026 to help shape rules that will affect energy use, water demand, neighborhood health, and the city's digital infrastructure for years to come.

Discovery of historic sewer caused $18 million in over-budget costs to 16th Street Improvement Project (denverite.com) — Denver's 16th Street Improvement Project ran nearly $27 million over budget after workers uncovered a historic brick sewer, including $18 million in costs city council didn't see before approval. An auditor's report faults transparency and urges stronger oversight as other DOTI projects move forward.

Denver Water could ban sprinkler use completely in October as drought conditions persist (denverite.com) — Denver Water may end the lawn-watering season a month early, potentially banning sprinkler use on Oct. 1 as drought and low reservoir projections persist. The utility already limits sprinklers and could soon allow only hand-watering of trees and plants across the metro area.

'Just stop': Denver garden center hit again after 8 thefts (kdvr.com) — A Denver garden center on Leetsdale Drive has been hit by repeated thefts this summer, including a recent $3,000 equipment loss, despite added security. Denver Police have logged multiple larceny reports at the strip mall, made at least one related arrest, and Chief Ron Thomas says the department is stepping up efforts while overall city crime trends downward.

Sunday Funday Prizes and Contesting (audacy.com) — Denver music fans can join Sunday Funday at View House Ballpark on August 23 for on-site games and a shot at prizes, including a Band Camino meet-and-greet.
