Denver won't replace ShotSpotter gunshot detection technology next year (9news.com) — Denver officials say the city will not immediately replace its ShotSpotter gunshot detection system when the contract ends in 2027, relying instead on 9-1-1 calls while they study alternatives. With tens of thousands of alerts since 2015 leading to hundreds of arrests and firearm recoveries, city council and safety leaders plan to use the next year to gather data and community feedback before choosing next steps.
