Agile Space Industries Celebrates Durango Headquarters Expansion with Ribbon Cutting (spacenews.com) — Agile Space Industries has more than doubled its Durango headquarters at 820 Airport Road, expanding to about 40,000 square feet to support rapid growth and more local jobs. The project adds significant office and manufacturing space, including new cleanroom and testing capabilities, and reinforces the company's long-term commitment to Durango and La Plata County's growing aerospace sector.
2. United Expands Route With New Seasonal Flights (airlinegeeks.com) — Durango travelers will gain new winter flight options when United adds twice-weekly seasonal service between Houston and Durango-La Plata County Airport from December 19, 2026, through March 27, 2027. The route, flown on Embraer E175s, will connect locals to United's Houston hub while making it easier for visitors to reach Durango for ski trips and holiday travel.
3. 'A Cowboy's Legacy' to honor life of rancher Tom Hatton (gazette.com) — Durango duo The Timberline Cowboys will bring their Four Corners ranching stories and Western music to the "A Cowboy's Legacy" show near Pikes Peak on Sept. 12. The evening blends cowboy poetry, regional history, and performances by award-winning Western artists, honoring late rancher Tom Hatton while showcasing the culture many Durango-area ranchers and cowhands still live every day.
4. Visiting Pagosa Springs: A southwest Colorado getaway known for hot springs, vast forests, and more (denvergazette.com) — If you're looking for a quick escape from Durango, this guide spotlights nearby Pagosa Springs, from its famous hot springs to surrounding forests and ski terrain. It also notes Chimney Rock National Monument's location between Durango and Pagosa, giving locals ideas for day trips, outdoor adventures, cultural stops, dining, and lodging just a few hours away.
