• Evans is planning to start using speed cameras. Here's what that means for Weld County drivers (greeleytribune.com) — Evans drivers will soon see automated speed cameras on key streets like 37th, 42nd, 11th and 35th, with $40 civil citations mailed to owners for going 10 mph over the limit. City leaders say the program targets chronic speeding and safety, while some residents and civil liberties advocates raise concerns about privacy, fairness, and whether cameras change driver behavior.
• 2 people get prison time after Evans police seize almost 3,000 fentanyl pills from their cars (greeleytribune.com) — Evans residents are learning more about a major fentanyl case that led to prison sentences for two people caught with nearly 3,000 counterfeit M-30 pills in separate October traffic stops. Evans officers first contacted one suspect near 29th Avenue and 37th Street, and both defendants ultimately received multi-year Colorado Department of Corrections sentences and thousands in court surcharges.
