After reviewing member and public feedback, Colorado Mountain Club is introducing a more accessible membership tier: a $38 annual membership created for budget-conscious outdoor enthusiasts, casual hikers, newcomers looking to connect with Colorado's mountain community, and out-of-state supporters of CMC and Colorado's great outdoors.
"Colorado's outdoors belong to all of us, and we want more people to feel connected to them," explains Ashley Hanlon, CMC's Chief Communications Officer. "Named after Colorado's nickname as the 38th state, State 38 is an invitation to explore more, save money, and join a community that cares deeply about recreation, stewardship, and protecting the landscapes that make Colorado special."
Member Discounts: Immediate access to CMC member pricing on events and all CMC corporate partner discounts, including local gear shops, outfitters, and brand partners. Get up to 60% off brands through ExpertVoice, a free three-month trial of GaiaGPS, 30% off at Mountainsmith, 25% off at Topo Designs (in-store) and OsoMeals, and more. See the full list of member benefits here.
Community Connection: Access to two CMC trips per membership year, including stewardship opportunities, hikes, rides, and climbs.
Colorado Conservation: CMC memberships support conservation efforts, including crucial advocacy work, stewardship crews, and the CMC Snow Rangers program. Being a steward of Colorado's great outdoors means we have to protect it, and this new membership level gives anyone with a love for the state a chance to help our dedicated Conservation team do that without worrying about loss of federal funding or highly competitive grants.
