• Nonprofits drive economic impact in Grand Junction, CEO says (kjct8.com) — Grand Junction has officially declared Aug. 17 as Nonprofit Day, highlighting more than 300 local organizations that provide 14% of the city's jobs and major economic impact. The Colorado Nonprofit Association says these groups are key economic drivers, and it's bringing a statewide nonprofit conference to the Grand Junction Convention Center on September 17.
   

• $90 million Central High School project making progress (kkco11news.com) — Central High School in Grand Junction is in the midst of a $90 million renovation funded by a 2024 bond, with new classrooms, security upgrades, and accessibility improvements underway. Crews have already converted older spaces and will add a new athletic wing, parking, and fields, with the athletic addition due in December and full completion expected in fall 2028.
   

• Grand Junction recreation center opens doors for tours before official launch (nbc11news.com) — Grand Junction's new Community Recreation Center is nearly ready, and residents can already sign up for programs and memberships inside the building. City staff have moved registration from Lincoln Park, and guided behind-the-scenes tours of the full facility start Aug. 24, offering an early look at fitness areas and the indoor track before next month's grand opening.
