1. Counseling and Education Center opens new Orchard Mesa location (kjct8.com) — A Grand Junction nonprofit counseling center has doubled its capacity by opening a permanent Orchard Mesa location on B ½ Road, bringing services closer to nearby schools and neighborhoods. Residents of all ages can now access expanded individual, family, and couples counseling without crossing town, addressing what leaders describe as a serious local gap in mental health care.
2. Federal government thins the herds of wild horses in Colorado (cpr.org) — Wild horse roundups on Colorado's Western Slope ultimately connect back to Grand Junction, where adopter Cindy Day cares for her formerly wild mustang Moses at a small ranch and nearby Clifton property.
