Today's riddle: What is the longest word in the dictionary? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Why local police departments are left to grapple with electric vehicle trends (denvergazette.com) — Littleton officials are considering a new e-bike ordinance that would require helmets for all riders under 18 and allow parents to be cited if kids break the rules. The proposal follows similar crackdowns in Aurora, Centennial and Douglas County on fast-growing electric vehicles that fall into legal gray areas. City Council will review the draft during next week's study session before any formal vote.
• Archaeological dig looks for artifacts on site of Jackass Hill Park that could undergo changes (denver7.com) — Archaeologists are digging at Littleton's Jackass Hill Park to see if a popular viewpoint is historically significant before planned redesign work moves forward. Their findings will guide South Suburban Parks and Recreation on whether to alter upcoming construction, while broader park redevelopment on the northeast corner is still set to begin in September.
• Elizabeth High School's partnership with Arapahoe Community College helps students get ahead (cbsnews.com) — Elizabeth High School students are getting a head start on college through a concurrent enrollment partnership with Arapahoe Community College, whose main campus is in Littleton. Teens can take college-level classes at EHS, at ACC in Littleton, or at satellite campuses, saving families significant tuition costs. School leaders hope to expand the successful program so more students can graduate with both a diploma and an associate degree.
