• Where are the Flock cameras in Mead? (berthoudsurveyor.com) — Mead residents are being monitored by several Flock automated license plate reader cameras placed along Highway 66, near I-25, and at Founders Park, along with other security tools used by the Mead Police Department. Town leaders approved facial recognition under Colorado law for investigative use only, and police also tap Ring's Neighbors app and the CodeRED system to send neighborhood alerts and emergency notifications.
   

• Colorado Record $65,000,000 Jury Verdict in Wrongful Death Truck Crash Case (iheart.com) — A record-setting $65 million jury verdict followed a deadly 2022 truck crash on I-25 near Mead, where falling concrete from an overpass strike killed a mother driving home with her son. Colorado State Patrol found an improperly loaded excavator caused the impact, and jurors concluded the driver and his employer were responsible, sending a strong safety message to the trucking industry.
