$2 Million Winning Mega Millions Ticket Sold In CT

It was a good weekend for someone in Connecticut who is now $2 million richer after winning a pretty decent "consolation" prize in Friday night's Mega Millions drawing.

If you purchased a ticket for the Friday night, Aug. 24, Mega Millions jackpot please check your tickets. The winning numbers were: 1-6-13-18-49 MB-8 MP-2. One person in Connecticut got 5 numbers and the Megaplier correct. A total of 7,027 "winning" tickets were sold in Connecticut for Friday's Mega Millions drawing. Prizes ranged from $2 to $2 million. Two people won $2,000.

The jackpot is now at $134 million for the Aug. 28 Mega Millions drawing. For last night's Powerball drawing, 8,244 "winning" tickets were sold in Connecticut but the top prize in the state was just $200. The numbers for last night's Powerball jackpot were 20-25-54-57-63 PB-8 PP-2. The jackpot is now up to $80 million, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

The Connecticut Lottery says that a $100,000 winning ticket is set to expire if no one claims it by Sept. 1, 2018. The Cash5 ticket was sold on March 5 at the Corner Stop, 82 Hemingway Ave., East Haven. The winning numbers for that Cash5 were: 4-7-13-21-34.

A $100,000 ticket is also set to expire on Sept. 26 and it's for the March 30, 2018 Cash5. The winning ticket was sold at Merritt Country Store, 337 Main St., Westport. The winning numbers were: 5-22-24-25-35.

Also, unclaimed winning tickets include a Cash5 ticket sold on April 20 at Winners Norwalk, 24 Burnell Blvd., Norwalk and the ticket is worth $100,000. The winning numbers are: 6-12-14-21-26 and that prize will expire on Oct. 17.

A $1 million winning Powerball ticket sold on May 2 at Georgetown Shell, 912 Danbury Rd., Wilton is set to expire on Oct. 29. The winning numbers were: 5-14-31-40-50 PB-6. And on May 9 a $100,00 winning Cash5 ticket was sold at Super Stop & Shop, 760 Villa Ave., Fairfield and it is set to expire on Nov. 5. The winning numbers were: 12-14-23-28-29.
