25 Years: Kensington FD To Host 9/11 Ceremony In Berlin
Friday, Sept. 11, marks the 25th anniversary of the terror attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania.
BERLIN, CT — Kensington Fire-Rescue will host a remembrance ceremony Friday to mark the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The brief ceremony is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the Kensington Volunteer Fire Department, 880 Farmington Ave. in Berlin.
The gathering will honor those who were killed in the attacks as well as the first responders and others who served that day.

“25 years have passed since the events of that day,” the department said in announcing the ceremony. “We will gather to honor and remember the lives lost and the heroes who served on that day.”
Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the Sept. 11 attacks in New York City, at the Pentagon, and near Shanksville, Pa.
