9 CT Companies Ranked Among Forbes’ ‘America’s Best Large Employers’

CONNECTICUT — Workers in Connecticut are in a position to be more choosy about where they work with the historically low 3.4 percent unemployment rates, according to Forbes, which on Wednesday released its annual list of “America’s Best Large Employers.”

The business magazine partnered with the market research firm Statista to compile the ranking, based on a survey of about 45,000 workers at companies and institutions with 5,000 or more employees.

They were asked questions such as whether they would recommend their current workplace to family or friends, and were also given the chance to cite other employers they would recommend. The 500 large employers on the list are those that received the most recommendations.

The nine Connecticut companies that made the top 500 are:

197. Pitney Bowes, Stamford: Transportation and Logistics
242. Cigna, Bloomfield: Insurance
249. Stanley Black & Decker, New Britain: Semiconductors, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Technology, Hardware & Equipment
355. State of Connecticut, Hartford: Government Services
374. Hubbell, Shelton: Semiconductors, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Technology, Hardware & Equipment
457. XPO, Greenwich: Transportation and Logistics
483. Spectrum, Stamford: Telecommunications Services, Cable Supplier

Nationally, the Top 10 large employers on Forbes’ list are:
