CT Weather: Cooler, Dry Weekend Awaits, Snow Possible Tuesday

Temps soared into the 50s today in Connecticut, but don't expect that to last long and our next snow chance emerges in the forecast.

Parts of Connecticut saw in excess of three inches of rain Thursday as there have been numerous reports of flooding and strong winds knocked down trees closing several roads and cutting off power to more than 12,000 residents during the afternoon hours.

As the rain has largely ended, we're still dealing with flooding conditions. A Flood Advisory is in effect for inland sections of Southern Connecticut until 10:15 p.m. and a Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 1 a.m. for Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties.

The temperature, which soared into the mid 50s today, has begun its expected fall and we're going to remain cold for the next several days. The weekend looks dry with temps in the 30s and our next snow chance comes Tuesday.

As of right now, and of course a lot will change, temps will be cold enough to support snow initially but then temps are expected to rise, which could lead to another mix and or ice storm.

And here are some pictures and video from across Connecticut concerning Thursday's rain storm.
