Police said the 89-year-old victim accidentally drove over a retaining wall and fell approximately 30 feet. The victim then became trapped underneath the vehicle, according to police.

The victim’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, and the man was “alert, conscious, and able to clearly articulate the cause of his accident,” police said.

Life Star was called “due to the mechanism of injury,” police and fire officials said.

The helicopter landed at the Torrington Industrial Park on Ella Grasso Avenue around 7:43 p.m. to transport the victim to an area hospital for medical treatment.

The victim was listed in “good” condition at Hartford Hospital Wednesday night, according to a hospital spokesperson.
