Widespread rain is expected to impact Connecticut starting Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service.
While starting out sunny, the day will become cloudy, with dry weather continuing through the afternoon.
“Rain develops this evening, and could fall moderate to heavy at times into the overnight,” the National Weather Service reports. “The rain tapers from west to east on Thursday.”
According to WFSB, a cold front is approaching from the west today, and the station predicts rain will move into the state from west to east around 10 p.m.
“This is our Next Big Thing, as a period of steadier (perhaps briefly heavy) rain will be likely tonight as an area of low pressure rides along the cold front pushing through the region,” WFSB reports. “By the time precipitation tapers to scattered showers and ends before noon, most of the state will pick up between 0.25 and 0.50” of beneficial rain.”
Temperatures today are expected to reach into the 60s, then it will become somewhat cooler, with high daytime temperatures Thursday through Sunday averaging in the mid to upper 50s, the National Weather Service predicts.
“Temps will go from above average to below as this midweek system clears Connecticut,” WFSB reports.
