KILLINGLY, CT — A threat involving Killingly High School this morning has prompted officials to close the school today, April 30.
School officials announced the closure, citing a “safety concern,” on the school’s website.
State police said Troop D personnel responded to the school, at 226 Putnam Pike, at about 5:59 a.m. Thursday for a reported call of a threat at the school.
“The school is currently in lockdown as they continue to investigate,” state police said, shortly before 9 a.m.
Police did not yet provide additional details about the threat.
In an announcement to the school community, the school district indicated the safety concern arose this morning and needs to be investigated. School officials said they are working with state police.
Students who are arriving on buses this morning will be brought home.
