2 Teens Hospitalized After Car Crash: Report

One teen suffered severe injuries, according to a report.

Two Bristol teens were hospitalized after their vehicle crashed into a guardrail and then hit several trees on Route 72 in Harwinton around 3 a.m. Saturday, NBC CT reports.

A 17-year-old suffered severe injuries, while a 19-year-old incurred minor injuries, NBC CT reports.

Fire officials said in a social media post that they responded to Terryville Road (Route 72) just north of the East Church Road intersection for a motor vehicle accident.

One vehicle had gone off the road, striking guardrails and a tree, fire officials said. Three occupants were injured, one of them with serious injuries, and were transported by Harwinton Ambulance to Waterbury Hospital.

Route 72 was closed to through traffic for several hours while state police conducted their investigation and the vehicle was removed, officials said.
