Nara Organics of New York is voluntarily recalling all lots of its powdered infant formula due to a potential risk of Clostridium botulinum contamination, according to the state.

“Infant botulism presents a serious threat to infants and can be potentially fatal,” the notice states.

To date, there have been three cases of infant botulism in children who consumed Nara Organics formula, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The three infants have been hospitalized and treated. There have been no reported deaths, officials said.

The formula was distributed nationwide, including through Target, online and in-store, and on Nara Organics’ website.

The recalled products include:

Consumers can find the lot numbers on the bottom of the can. All lots currently on the market are included in the voluntary recall.

The state advises caregivers to stop using the product immediately. If your child has consumed the product and starts showing symptoms of infant botulism, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms can include respiratory problems, constipation, poor feeding or an altered cry.

Customers who bought the product directly from Nara Organics’ website between May and June will get an automatic refund. Consumers who have unused formula prior to May 2026 may submit a photo of the can and its use-by date to the company’s website. If you bought the product at Target, return it to your local store, officials said.

For more information about the recall and refunds, visit the company’s website.

Connecticut consumers who have additional questions about the recall may call the state Department of Consumer Protection’s Food and Standards Division at 860-713-6160 or send an email to DCP.FoodandStandards@ct.gov.
