Police charged her with four counts of risk of injury to a child, first-degree reckless endangerment, evading responsibility, reckless driving, failure to maintain proper lane, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration.

According to police, Blanchette had been involved in a domestic incident just before the crash.

Police said they were dispatched around 8:10 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a possible domestic disturbance on Snake Meadow Road.

While officers were on the scene investigating the disturbance complaint, they received a report of a motor vehicle crash on Harris Road, police said.

A white SUV had struck a house and fled the scene. Officers identified the vehicle as a Volvo XC90 operated by Blanchette, police said.

According to police, Blanchette had been involved in the earlier incident at the Snake Meadow Road residence, then left that location with the four children.

Accident investigators determined Blanchette was driving at a high rate of speed and lost control while navigating a turn. Her vehicle left the roadway, went down an embankment and hit the residence on Harris Road, police said.

According to police, Blanchette fled the accident scene and went home. Officers found her vehicle at her residence, and police said it had damage consistent with the reported crash.

Blanchette is scheduled to be arraigned at Superior Court in Danielson today.
