HARWINTON, CT — A person was injured in a horseback riding incident over the weekend.
Harwinton firefighters and EMTs were dispatched just after noon on Saturday to assist with an injured person off a trail on South Road, according to fire officials.
The person had been horseback riding and was thrown off the horse.
Firefighters used a Gator rescue UTV and a Stokes rescue basket to transport the person to an ambulance.
The person was taken from Burlington to UConn Hospital in Farmington for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
