COLCHESTER, CT — A Colchester man was arrested on accusations that he placed a GPS tracking device on a victim's vehicle, according to police.
An investigation began after the victim reported suspicious activity involving their vehicle, police said.
Officers found a GPS device that had been magnetically attached and concealed underneath the vehicle.
Police identified the suspect, a 41-year-old Colchester man, who was taken into custody. He was charged with electronic stalking.
"The Colchester Police Department takes incidents involving stalking and harassment seriously and will continue to investigate these cases thoroughly to protect the safety and privacy of our community," police said in a Facebook post.
Police said that this "appears to be an isolated incident" but anyone with information regarding similar incidents or suspicious activity should contact law enforcement.
