SPRAGUE, CT — The death of a juvenile who was struck by a dump truck is under investigation, WTNH News-8 reported.
State police troopers responded to a Pautipaug Hill Road address in Sprague on Saturday.
The accident occurred on private property in the town's Baltic section at 8:36 p.m., state police said in a statement.
The victim was described only as a juvenile, and no identification has been released.
There was a large police presence in the quiet neighborhood before the street reopened Sunday, FOX 61 reported.
State police are investigating the case, which has been classified as an untimely death. Because of that and the age of the victim, state police said no additional information is being released.
"The Connecticut State Police extends its deepest condolences to the family of this case, all first responders on scene, and the members of the Sprague community impacted by this incident," the statement reads.
Mental health and grief resources are being made available for the community and for first responders through the state's 211 program.
